Hey there, Fun friends! We’re excited to share with you another one of Shannon’s beautiful projects that she created LIVE on our Facebook page. It’s such a fun feature we share each Friday – you can hear Shannon’s reasons for doing certain things, watch how she tries a technique and see how she creates a beautiful project each week. A bonus this week is that Shannon shared the name that was voted on for the elephant in this set. Did you see?!
This week, Shannon used our set Good Karma that is in our newest mini catalog, Celebrating Life’s Moments. The card’s beauty comes from the Pan Pastels that Shannon used to color both the elephant AND the background. Let’s take this step by step!
First, taking a Whip Cream Cardstock panel, stamp in a pattern using the two larger flowers from the stamp set with your Clear Pigment Ink Pad. Once you’re finished you can take the larger Sofft Tool wedge and blend the yellow Pan Pastel over 1/3 of the card. Next, you’ll do the center 1/3 with orange and the last third with red, blending the colors out so they are smooth in appearance and that they blend where the colors come together. You can set this background aside and take another Whip Cream Cardstock panel to stamp the elephant on, using the Clear Pigment Ink Pad once again.
With the elephant you will take the same set of Party Pop Pan Pastels and use the Sofft Tool spatula to blend the blue Pan Pastel onto the elephant. Once you are finished, you can cut the elephant and set it aside. The assembling will begin!
Shannon used a panel of Black Licorice cardstock to mat behind our background — it really gives it a lovely pop! However, before adhering the elephant, she embellished a little bit with Black Licorice Journey Thread and after some Cut Rhinestones to add the perfect amount of sparkle. The combination on this card is simply stunning!
Make sure you’re following us on our Facebook page so you do not miss a Try Day Friday! We’re excited to see what Shannon comes up with next and are sure you are, too.
Lovely Bright Beautiful Card.
