Get to Know Your Customers Day

January 18, 2018 By funstampers 6 Comments

Today is National Get to Know Your Customers Day! Yes, it’s a thing – every third Thursday of the month actually. In celebration of this day, we want to get to know YOU a bit. We’ll craft with a couple items from our Bloom This Way Trends Mini Catalog while asking you a few questions. Chime in the comment conversations.

Before we get started crafting we want to thank all of you for joining us in this creative space. We love the interaction we have from you all in the comments and we hope you enjoy this daily inspiration. We made our goal of 1,000 subscribers on this blog and we are very excited about that. Thank you!!

Let’s chat about your crafting space. Do you have a craft room or is it more like a craft desk/ corner? How do you keep your supplies organized where you can easily find just the right item as you create?

At the Journey Station office we have a craft room full of fun goodies. If you’ve ever taken a tour of the room (we offer this to Journey Coaches during our annual Convention) you’ll see try to keep our supplies as organized as possible. We use our Journey Storage sets, Storage Pouches, Journey Clear Block Case and all the great tools currently 20% off this month during our Spruce Your Space promotion. See the full sales list here.

As we set out to create this card for you today, we definitely wanted to use an image from our new Trends Mini. We’ve posted a few projects with the Magical Unicorn Stamp Set, played with the Good Stuff Stamp, Easter Blessings Stamp, Build-A-Super and a couple others. Which stamp set from the Bloom This Way Trends Mini is your favorite?

Today we grabbed the Storybook Occasions Stamp Set.

We grabbed the Journey Rectangles piercing die to create a border on our Oatmeal Cookie cardstock panel. This border frames the stamped scene.

Grab your favorite image from the Storybook Occasions Stamp Set. This set has a birthday lamb, adorable Valentine’s bunny, Easter bird, and this cute mouse. We stamped our image at the bottom of the rectangle border, this way the border becomes the outside landscape as if you are looking at the mouse and the rest is the neighborhood behind them. It’s a subtle illusion, but effective to make this a beautiful card.

Now it’s time to color in your stamped image. What is your favorite way to add color? Do you use colored pencils, PanPastels, re-inkers, Liquid Color, Acrylic Paint? All of the above?

We colored this image in with our Journey Color Burst pure color pencils. Bring your images to life with any coloring tool of your choice. Each of our coloring options will give you different looks. Play with them to figure out which fits the best for the project design you are creating. In this case the shading of the pencils was perfect for what we needed.

Decorate your project with a few accessories, like the Pineapple Smoothie Gingham Ribbon, and our new Patootie Burst accents. Which FSJ accessories are favorite?

What do you think about this project? Share your thoughts as well as answers to our questions above in the comments. We would love to hear from you.

I have a full size Craft Room but it’s not as organized as I would like it to be so I have ordered the wonderful storage boxes to help.
The Storybook Occasions stamp set is my favorite in the Bloom This Way catalog. Grownups seem to love “little creatures” as much as little kids do!
I use all of the coloring mods except the paints – I’ve found paint to be too messy for me to deal with but my granddaughters who craft with me would like to try them with our Gel Press. I put together their own crafting kit for Christmas so birthdays coming up will be a good chance to add to it for them to craft at home as well as crafting with me. My 17 year old granddaughter is counting the days to her 18th birthday so she can become an FSJ Coach!

That’s awesome! Thank you for sharing Judy! We would love to have your granddaughter on board after her bday. Please wish her a happy early birthday for us.

Too many favorite stamp sets to pick one, but I’d say ALL of the flower sets and the unicorn would definitely be on my list. I’m loving the liquid color and the pan pastels. If I can count the card carrier as an accessory, I’ll go with that. Otherwise, I love the flowers, new silks, and the lovely words foil stickers.

I find that if I craft from my craft room, my supplies stay more organized, and the entire house doesn’t look like an extension of that room, with stuff spilling over everywhere.

Great job on the catalog! Absolutely loving it!
